As we mentioned in our COVID Thanksgiving post, we made the most out of this Thanksgiving by doing a food swap with family. The end result of our Thanksgiving was the following:
Meats, Stuffings, Appetizers
- 2 types of turkey
- 2 types of stuffing
- Rolls
- Clam dip
Vegetable Sides
- Turnip casserole
- Green bean casserole
- Smoked cheddar Dijon mashed potatoes
- Butternut squash
- Maple bacon Brussels sprouts
Fruits and Desserts
- Cranberry sauce
- Fruit salad
- Sweet potato pie
- Maple bacon walnut coffee cake
- Banana bread
If you’d like the recipes to any of the above, let us know in the comments!
We also talked about using our leftovers in creative ways over the next week in our Weekly Meal Plan post. We have already eaten leftovers in the form they originally came, and we have had Thanksgiving sandwiches (not all leftovers belong on a sandwich!). Our future plans include a pot pie (with the left over pie crust from making the sweet potato pie).
In addition to food, we also were sure to reflect on what we are thankful for, including the ability to find a way to enjoy Thanksgiving in the current climate. We are also thankful to all the readers of this blog, and hope to continue providing content for years to come. We hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving!
