Vanilla Extract

Vanilla extract doesn’t have to be that pricy baking essential that you dread having to shell out money on. You can make your own at home for much cheaper and even have more control on the quality of it. It’s super simple and just requires you to spend 5 minutes making it and 6 months of waiting.

  • 750 mL bottle of vodka
  • 10 grade B vanilla beans (we suggest these from Amazon)

  1. Slice the vanilla beans lengthwise and add them to the bottle of vodka. Shake to combine and store in a cool dark place for at least 6 months before using, shaking the bottle once a month.
