What we ordered:
We always grab a few dozen donuts to go from Congdon’s, but if you’ve read our 28 hour food trip, you’ll know that we also grab some other goodies like:
- French Toast Honey Bun (yeah, they do that)
- Doughnut cooked into a pancake (yeah, they do that too)
- Chocolate covered bacon (yeah, they do that TOO)
- Sausage, egg, and cheese on a homemade cheddar biscuit (you have no idea how good a breakfast sandwich can be until you’ve had this)
- Cheddar biscuits to go (they are insanely good)
The Verdict
Congdon’s is what I wish Dunkin Donuts was. The donuts are fresh, there are so many flavors to choose from, and the service is quick. Mainly (pun intended), I just wish they had locations closer to us so that we could on a whim get some amazing donuts, because that is one thing that Vermont really lacks, except for North Country Donuts (restaurant review coming soon!). To us, this is ALWAYS a stop if we are in Maine, and as you can tell by our various Food Trips (28 Hour, 12 Hour, and 15 hour), you know that we will even drive to Maine JUST to get Congdon’s. I’ll let that speak for itself.
