With most people probably working on Thanksgiving leftovers for the next few days, it will be hard to think about making more food for a while, but eventually we will run out of leftovers and will need to make up some additional meals to get us through until the next Shaw’s sales. So, based on leftovers and this week’s sales at Shaw’s, we planned the following:
Thanksgiving leftovers – whether this be just the meal as is, or turning it into sandwiches, or using a different creative idea to use up the leftovers (there are TONS of cooking YouTubers putting out ideas!), we plan to get our money’s worth out of the food we have. This is our number one priority, and until we have used everything up, we won’t be purchasing any additional food – simply because we don’t have any extra room in our refrigerator or freezer for anything more!
Salads – not only is this a nice, light meal idea to counteract the heaviness of Thanksgiving, but Shaw’s has most of the ingredients on sale to make a nice salad. We have a few dressings already on hand that could get used up to clean out the fridge, and bonus – if there is any bread left over, we can make homemade croutons.
If we need anything more to get us through, we have some deli ham and bar cheddar that can be made into sandwiches (we always have bread in the freezer as well), and some canned soups from the past few weeks of sales that we stocked up on.
