Due to the lack of sales at Shaw’s this week, we are making food that focuses on using what we already have on hand. We took a look in our cupboards, fridge, and freezer, and came up with the following meals:
Turkey chili with cornbread – we already had tons of canned beans on hand, and we also have some hot honey that we wanted to use – so we figured chili and cornbread would be perfect. The weather this coming week is a little warmer than typical chili weather, but oh well! We will be purchasing turkey, an onion, a red pepper, and corn bread mix to supplement the ingredients we had on hand.
Steak tips and potatoes on the grill – we thought about the nicer weather this week and thought our other meal should take advantage of it. We already had steak tips in the freezer, along with Sweet Baby Ray’s to marinate them in, and we had some leftover potatoes and onions from a few weeks back. We will also look when we’re at the store for another veggie side to make to complete the dish.
