We didn’t think the sales at Shaw’s this week were too incredible, so we used our pantry, fridge, and freezer as inspiration for this week’s meals:
Chicken pot pie – In addition to some pie crust left over from Thanksgiving, we had some celery and chicken on hand that we wanted to use up to make room in the freezer for new chicken from the sale this week, so we decided on chicken pot pie. We had to buy some supplementary ingredients like heavy cream and potatoes (which were on sale), but it used up enough of what we already had where it seemed justified.
Loaded baked potatoes and curry soup – We had sour cream, bacon, and green onions on hand, as well as cheese which we always have in the freezer (yes, you can freeze cheese!), and with potatoes being on sale, we figured some loaded baked potatoes would be great to use up the ingredients on hand. Because a baked potato isn’t a whole meal, we decided to pair it with soup. We did have to buy most of the ingredients unfortunately, but we were really in the mood for a curry soup, so we splurged!
